The night started off with the opening act preformed by Camila Cabello joined by Ricky Martin and someone else in an West Side Story inspired performance of Havana.

Host Alicia Keys graced the stage and brought with her Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Jada Smith and former First Lady Michelle Obama and each talked about how music inspired them to continue to be themselves when others said otherwise.

The first Grammy of the night went to Lady Gaga for her performance of Shallow featuring Bradley Cooper from there movie A Star is Born. Shallow received Best Song Written to Visual Media and the pairing won a Grammy for Best Duo/Group.

Album of the year went to Kacey Musgraves for her album Golden Hour.

Song of the year went to This is America by Childish Gimbino. The outstanding song/video also won Video of the Year and Record of the Year.

Cardi B was awarded Best Rap Album of the Year for Invasion of Privacy.

The award for Best Rap Song went to God’s Plan by Drake.

Best New Artist was Dua Lipa, she released One Kiss and New Rules this past year.

Ariana Grande would’ve taken home the Grammy for Best Pop Vocals, but was in absence protesting a producer of the Grammys.

Best Rock Album went to From the Fires by Greta Van Fleet. A band of two twins, their older brother and a good friend.

This years Grammys might have started of with the idea that music brings peace, but with the protest of Ariana Grande it may have caused some Hollywood drama.
