To begin an evening of festivities, the homecoming parade returned for a second year to hype up the school’s community before the football game later in the evening.
This year’s parade was lead by the Vikings marching band, lady Viking cheerleaders and the Northwest football team. Following was the teacher of the year, Beth Herrick, as well as the homecoming court. Then student-made floats representing each student class, as well as various clubs and sports followed behind the parade leaders.
Lastly, the parade concluded with student-made banners that were judged and hung in the school’s commons earlier in the week. The Vikings chorus banner placed first in the competition, in second place was the National Art Honors Society’s banner and Speech and Debates’ banner placed third.
The parade ended in the school’s senior parking lot, where a tailgate was held before the football game.
