Northwest dances in state competition

The Northwest Elite Dance Team performs “Me Too” on Saturday, Feb 9. In competition against other performing arts schools, such as Durham School of the Arts, the Vikings did not bring home a win; however, their performance was a crowd-pleaser and according to their coach, Kristin Skordahl, “the performance was their best yet.”

The Northwest Elite dance team competed in the “large schools” division of the North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities’ state-wide dance competition on Saturday, Feb. 9. The dance was held in the Northwest auditorium.

Though the dancers did not win the competition, EC teacher and dance coach Kristin Skordahl expressed pride for her team.

“The performance was their best yet and brought tears to my eyes,” Skordahl said. “This group of dancers is the best and still all smiles.”
