The Lady Vikings have done it again. Defending their 4-A NCHSAA state championship, the Northwest Girls’ basketball team defeated Ardrey Kell 47-31 in the final home game of the season.

The Roger Nelson gymnasium was filled with parents, students and staff cheering on the Vikings. The Northwest Student Government encouraged attendance at the Tuesday night game, offering the first 50 students free tickets and pizza.

On Saturday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m., the Vikings will play Mallard Creek High School at the Fleming Gym at UNC-Greensboro.  Admission will be $9. The winner of the game will head to the Dean Dome at UNC-Chapel Hill on March 10 to compete for the state championship.
