If you are looking for authentic Italian pizza, head down to Cugino Forno. It is in the newly refurbished Revolution Mill, which was an old textile mill that has now been repurposed for dining, shopping, and offices.

The setting is very unique with wood floors, red brick walls and huge glass windows allowing for a lot of natural light.

Cugino Forno cooks pizza the same way it was first made famous in Naples, Italy, back in 1889.

They use Mozzarella di Bufala made for them earlier in the week in a small town in Southern Italy. It is then flown in fresh, as are many of their other ingredients.

They cook their pizza in hand-made wood burning ovens, with volcanic rock bottoms from Mount Vesuvius, which cooks your pizza in an outstanding 90 seconds.

“I love going to Cugino Forno,” sophomore Brooks Atwell said. “The atmosphere is unique and the pizza is fantastic.”

These are true Italian pizzas with ingredients that will have you salivating. You get your pizza piping hot and fresh, and it tastes great.

“Cugino Forno is hands down my favorite place to get pizza from,” senior Megan Webb said. “It is so authentic and I am never disappointed.”

When I went, I tried the Americano pizza, which is Pepperoni, San Marzano Tomato, Bufala Mozzarella, and Basil Garlic. It was perfectly cooked and overall a perfect blend of everything.

They also offered a self-serve area with all of your classic garnishes, such as Parmesan, dried basil and oregano, olive oil, and red peppers.

The restaurant also features salads, cannolis, and other desserts. The menu has something for everyone, without offering an overwhelming number of options.

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with this rustic Italian eatery. It has speedy service, friendly employees and owners, excellent pizza, huge fresh salads, delicious desserts, and a great location.
