Why did you start playing?

What do you enjoy most about playing golf?
“I like that it’s an individual sport so you can’t be angry at your teammates for anything,” Mahon said. “You play for your own score and no one else can affect that.”

Where is your favorite place to play?
“Probably Pinehurst,” Mahon said. “It’s super nice and pretty.”

Do you have any pre-match rituals?
“I go to the range and warm up,” Mahon said. “I also listen to music… I always listen to Are You Bored Yet? by Wallows before a match.”

What’s the hardest part about being a student-athlete?
“You miss so much class, especially when you play golf,” Mahon said. “Either you miss your sixth period or half the day because (matches) take so long.”

What will you miss most about golf after this season ends?
“I’ll definitely miss playing with one of my best friends, Christa. We don’t see each other much outside of golf and I love playing with her.”
